My husband and I enjoyed meeting with Kali for our prenatal visits and getting to know her as she cared to get to know us and how she could best support us. She is easy to talk to and has such a beautiful heart and passion for women, families, birth, and the Lord. She helped us form our birth plan, had much to share with us, and I appreciated that I could text any time with questions that came up; I felt as prepared as we could be for labor and whatever might come in our story.

My labor ended up being SUPER fast, so I had a unique experience and ended up not having a doula physically with me during labor. This was not what I was expecting, but through all the quick changes and progression of my labor, we knew we were taken care of over the phone and that Kali would do all she could to support us. Because of this, we also got the chance to work with Kelly, who joined right after our baby was born. She brought a calming presence for us in the first hours of postpartum, and so genuinely shared in our joy and answered our questions.

My favorite moments overall were getting to debrief together during the postpartum visit in our home, for Kali and Kelly to see our baby boy and spend time with my husband and I. I so appreciated them listening to my questions, talking through our birth, and being so understanding of my tears and joy.

I decided to reach out for a doula after I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd child. My first birth was a bit tramatic for my husband and I. We both felt some extra support could benefit both of us. Let me tell you, it was the best decision we did! Kali was our doula during our pregnancy and she was PHENOMENAL. As soon as I did an inquiry, she met with me and answered all of my questions. She continued to follow up with me as the weeks progressed. She met with my husband and I and made sure we felt comfortable and all of our questions were answered before our time was complete. Kali sent me follow up emails and exercises that would benefit me as I was getting closer to welcoming our little one earth side. When the time came to go to the hospital, Kali was texting me throughout the process checking in, making sure my questions were answered and preparing me for the absolute best. when I needed her in person, she was there. She stayed with my husband and I until we were comfortable with her leaving. She was so supportive and encouraging when I was at my weakest points, she gave great advice, advocated for me when I was too weak, and was so supportive not only to me, but to my husband as well. Kali has a gift as to what she does. She definitely is called to do what she does. My husband and I decided we wanted a doula present at the birth of our first child when I was already well into my third trimester of pregnancy. Kali took time to sit with us, learn about our birth preferences, and help us prepare mentally, physically, and spiritually for birth. During the actual labor and delivery, Kali was the calm, steady presence that we needed. When labor seemed to stall and the hospital team suggested more invasive interventions, Kali was our advocate. She helped us process the decision by gently reminding us of the birth preferences we had initially shared with her. In that moment, I felt freedom to change my mind with no judgment, but more importantly, I felt empowered to keep pressing on and laboring naturally. She was by my side through the night until we welcomed our baby girl the next morning. My husband reflected after the birth, “I’m really glad Kali was there. It would have been a lot harder and more stressful if it was just me. I’m really grateful for her support.” I am so grateful to Kali for helping make the natural birth we had hoped and prayed for possible. My husband Zach and I are so thankful for Kali. She helped us to prepare and plan in advance of the birth of our first child, providing valuable resources and guidance on an unknown journey. When I unexpectedly needed to be induced, her recommendations allowed the induction process to go smoothly and simulate a natural birth as closely as possible. When my wife first brought up hiring a Doula, I didn't think it was necessary.  But after attending a birth class, I quickly realized that there is a lot more to birthing a child than I thought.  It made more sense to me than ever to have an advocate and Coach for not only my wife, but for me as well during the intense experience of birth. My wife was able to have a unique level of peace as we walked into the hospital while in TRANSITION because we had Kali on our side.  Knowing that Kali was ready to help my wife stick to her birth plan gave her confidence and peace which was crucial in allowing her to relax and feel safe. When we arrived at the hospital, the midwife informed us that my wife was dilated to 9 1/2 cm and told us the station of the baby. Kali was able to instruct my wife which positions to labor in to help the baby to move down given that information. Within the first 2 minutes of following this coaching, my wife's water broke and labor continued to progress. The best decision I made as a first time mom was to work with Kelly! Kelly offered great support, and helped me through all the unknowns throughout my pregnancy. She guided my husband and I in creating our birth preferences, she was there to answer any questions we had and offered amazing resources that allowed us to make informative decisions for both me and our baby. I will never forget the overwhelming feeling of relief and encouragement Kelly provided as soon as she arrived at the hospital when I was in labor. We hired Kali with Vine & Co. Doulas when we were 32 weeks along with our first baby - and we are so glad we did!

Within a week we filled out an intake form and had our first prenatal meeting scheduled. The two prenatal sessions she did with us were super helpful in helping to clarify our birth preferences, get us on the same page, and give us tools to move labor along when it started. This helped us feel so prepared for our first labor and delivery! When labor began, Kali was guiding us through strategies to keep labor moving, and as things intensified she was the presence we needed in the hospital - especially the when things didn't go as planned!

Kali has an amazing gift of not being awkward (which is really needed as birth is so vulnerable!), being incredibly peaceful, and steadily confident. She was the one in the room we looked to for assurance and guidance and her experience and knowledge blessed us (and then baby!).
